The Annual Conference of Cognitive Science (ACCS) is a premier interdisciplinary forum in India, dedicated to advancing the understanding of the human mind and brain. Established in 2013 by the Association for Cognitive Science (ACS), the conference aims to foster collaboration among researchers, educators, and students across diverse fields such as cognitive psychology, neuroscience, computer science, linguistics, philosophy, and artificial intelligence.<\/p>

Each year, ACCS is hosted by a leading Indian institution, providing a platform for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research. The conference features keynote lectures, paper presentations, poster sessions, and workshops, facilitating rich academic exchange and networking opportunities. Notably, the 11th edition (ACCS-11) was held at IIT Bombay in December 2024, bringing together a vibrant community of scholars to explore topics ranging from learning and memory, human-computer interaction (HCI), and the computational foundations of cognition, to language processing, decision-making, and even the frontiers of consciousness studies. The 12th Annual Conference of Cognitive Science (ACCS-12) was hosted by the Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS), University of Allahabad, from December 12 to 14, 2025.<\/p>

ACCS continues to serve as a vital conduit for promoting cognitive science research and education in India, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration to deepen our understanding of cognitive processes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS) was formally set up in 2002 as a \u2018Centre with Potential for Excellence\u2019 by the University Grants Commission (UGC). CBCS is the first institution to start a Master\u2019s program in Cognitive Science in India. Several batches of Master\u2019s and PhD students have graduated (260+) till date. Research takes center stage at CBCS, with faculty and students in a relentless quest of exploring new frontiers and consolidating existing ones. Primary areas of research include attention, time perception, meditation, consciousness, emotion, cognitive control, cognitive development, neuroaesthetics, language, bilingualism, consumer behaviour, memory, and decision making, using behavioural experimentation, EEG\/ERP, eye movements, and fMRI.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
