Admission to MSc in Cognitive Science

General Instructions:

  1. Admission is subject to the candidates securing prescribed marks, 55% for General and 50% for OBC/SC/ST at the Undergraduate level.
  2. All selected candidates should bring their Migration (Issued by the University) and/or Transfer Certificate (only issued by the college) from the last attended institution / college/ University.
  3. All the candidate under reserved category should submit their Caste Certificate separately to the <puneet@cbcs.ac.in>
  4. Admission under “Teacher’s/Employee’s (University of Allahabad) ward category” is applicable as per the University of Allahabad rules. Such applicants are requested to submit the Proforma/Application duly signed by the competent authority of the University of Allahabad to the office of the undersigned at the time of admission.
  5. Candidates can send an email <puneet@cbcs.ac.in> along with their COGJET application / GATE Registration ID to know their individual marks. 

Reservation

In accordance with provision of Section 9 of the University of Allahabad Act, 2005 (Act No. 26 of 2005) seats shall be reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category candidates in all subjects / course for which the Admission Test has to be held, as given here under:

(i)         15% of the total seats in each subject / course shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) category;

(ii)        7.5% of the total seats in each subject / course shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe (ST) category; and

(iii)      27% of the total seats in each subject / course shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Other Backward Caste (OBC) category.

(iv)       In case the seats reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) category candidates remain vacant on account of non-availability of candidates the same shall be filled by the candidates of Scheduled Caste (SC).

(v)        10% of the total seats shall be reserved for candidate belonging to EWS category.

Note:   These rules are indicative and UGC Regulation on Reservation and directives of Ministry of Education as on the date of declaration of Results shall be followed.

Documents to be produced by the candidates claiming Caste/Social category/special Consideration:

  • For SC/ST, GEN (EWS) and OBC (Non-creamy layer) category candidates: Recent Caste/ Category certificate in original and a photocopy thereof on Central Government format. 
  • For the applicants of Divyang Quota: Original and a photocopy of the certificate of Physical Disability issued by the Chief Medical officer of a District Hospital.
